Chalice Circles

Chalice Circle

Deep sharing leads to deep caring. That is the premise that Chalice Circles promotes. A Chalice Circle is a small group of people (5-10) who meet on a regular basis for the purpose of establishing bonds and  fostering connection and caring; providing an avenue for personal growth and spiritual development. Also called “Small Group Ministry” or “Covenant Groups” and with the slogan “Saving the World 8-10 People at a Time”, Chalice Circles helps build a community. All of the people who participated in the groups last year are eager to join again.

If you've ever looked at a fellow member and thought; “I wish I knew that person better.”

This is the perfect setting. As we're sharing our stories, heart to heart on the deepest levels the ideal of a beloved community becomes a reality. This is not a discussion group, we don't try to fix each other or give advice. We listen and are listened to. With the promise of confidentiality, trust builds and we achieve greater understanding of each other and ourselves while exploring such topics as: Fear, Courage, Listening, Ill Fortune, Thanksgiving, Humor, and the Seven Principles.

We would like to start with 3 groups in October but facilitators are ready for 4 groups if needed.

Sign up sheets are in the social room. Join a Chalice Circle, it provides an additional avenue for enriching the lives of its participants and strengthening the foundation of our community.

Welcoming Committee

WELCOMING CONGREGATION RENEWAL COMMITTEE

The Welcoming Congregation Renewal Committee is taking some time to "recharge batteries" this summer.  Our workshops will be given again in the fall, on an evening during the week.  The monthly movie series is on hiatus until September. In September we will see "Breakfast with Scot" A light family drama about a flamboyant boy (Scot), who comes to live with his gay brother and his partner.  The New York Times called the film "utterly charming and affirming". We are proudly marching in the Gay Pride parade and helping to person a booth at the street fair June 26th, the anniversary of the Stonewall riots.

Welcoming Congregation Chairman
